And I must say, there is something about it that can’t be replicated with a DSLR. All shots were taken with a Nikon F100 and 50mm 1.8 AF.

These are very nice - the 50mm 1.8 is just an amazing bit of kit. A bunch of these would have been easy to over/underexpose but these look spot on.

How much does film cost to buy and develop nowadays?

Thank you very much. I can get a roll of decent Fuji for around $5. Processing and scanning is around $13 a roll. It's not cheap, but it's nice to shoot on every once in a while just to keep my understanding of light sharp.

Beautiful. I feel like it’s similar to vinyl and tube or transistor amps versus digital formats and modern A/V receivers. One may technically be better, but it’s not the same.

Looks great man.

Shooting with real film is like driving a cheap 60’s muscle car.

Unforgiving, but when done right, awesome.

I thought these were carbomorators at first, but wires say they’re some kind of throttle body? Huh. Only one set of wires per “carb”?

Are you using Velvia? Or using Negatives?

Wow, I thought for sure they were slides. For negatives, these look excellent! I’ve got a Nikon N65, but haven’t shot film for a while. After seeing your photos, I think I’ll go try and shoot a roll this weekend :)

Fantastic shots. I just got into shooting with film recently and I love never knowing how it will truly come out.

Shooting slide film is unforgiving. Shooting color negative film is VERY forgiving. You just about can't blow highlights with modern emulsions.

It was more I was wondering whether it was a single injector for both throats somehow, because limited wires.

I mean in comparison to digital. There’s no “let me check the preview window and see if I got the shot, nope I’ll just click a few more.”

I have to agree, I still haven’t passed on to a DSLR camera because I only use film. It sounds a bit hipster (and it’s stupid expensive) but I love the image that comes out from film.

Congratulations on the really nice shots

Beautiful! Curious, do people respond differently when you’re shooting film vs. digital? People always look at me like I’m a pedo when I shoot my dslr but I imagine people would think your a crazy artist and/or hipster if you were shooting film.

I shoot with a Nikon F100 which any non-photo person wouldn’t be able to differentiate from a DSLR. people definitely are stand off-ish sometimes when you are shooting with a big black camera. That’s why for street photography, I use a Fuji X20. Classic looks and as a result, more comfortable subjects.

Of course, I have definitely gotten weird looks when I open the back of the F100 to change the roll of film haha.

My wife has the X10 and loves it. I would like it a lot more with a bigger sensor. The camera just calls it quits once the sun even thinks about setting.

What lenses do you use with that F100?

50mm 1.8 and 35mm 1.8. I'm very partial to prime lenses, especially when shooting film.

I want to mess with film but I’m a little afraid of going down that rabbit hole. I tend to go a little crazy with mastering something once I’ve put my mind to it.

I’m the exact same way. That’s what has happened with film for me. I found an old piece of junk film camera in a box, I went out and bought a couple rolls, and here I am with an F100 and many many processed negatives. By the way, I'm a big fan of your stuff.

Thanks! Those film photos are absolutely gorgeous above. I recently popped my manual lens cherry with a vintage 300mm Canon prime lens, found on CL with a Sony E-mount adaptor already installed I couldn’t resist. It’s my latest obsession, after being too intimidated by all-manual lenses for too long, it’s so worth it though. Ghost above was shot with the 300, it makes the nicest bokeh.

That is very nice. I’ve only once shot with a manual lens on a DSLR. It was a Nikon 50mm. Like you said, it was definitely worth it. I couldn't believe the detail I was getting. Unfortunately, it wasn't mine so I had to give it back at the end of the shoot.
